Chamonix Mont Blanc – What’s new this winter 2024 / 2025
New things to see & do in Chamonix when you visit this winter!
Our Geneva Airport to Chamonix transfer route is our most popular by far, with many of you as enchanted by the magic of the mountains as we are! Here’s what’s new and happening in the Chamonix Valley for this winter 2024 / 2025 season…
New bars & shops galore!
Retail therapy, apres-ski fun or somewhere to eat, Chamonix has it all – and quite a bit has changed in Chamonix town centre over recent months.
Along the Rue du Moulin party street, you’ll now find Le Jungle, a brand new bar and restaurant that delivers on decent cocktails, delicious tapas and cool vibes – with live music and DJs too.

Le Rond Point – the iconic curved building by the clock in Place Garmisch-Partenkirchen, has had a huge and very cool makeover at last! It’s now a place to see and be seen, with a particularly good cocktail menu and a great terrace for people watching!
We’ve heard that the team behind Le Monchu, the bustling brasserie in Place Balmat has bought A Contre Temps restaurant opposite the Montenvers ticket desk and station. Called Le P’tiot Monchu it’s the ‘little brother’ of the Monchu, it’s a welcome addition to this end of town!
Chamonix Hotels – new & renovated places to stay!
The Hotel Mercure which is super well placed in Chamonix right next to the main SNCF train station is now the Lykke Hotel and Spa, boasting a brand new spa and wellness area that offers relaxation with a pretty amazing view towards Mont Blanc and the Aiguille du Midi. (Pic: LykkeFB)
Meanwhile, work continues on transforming the former Hotel Couttet into a five-star hotel and resort. And it looks like the Hotel Le Refuge des Aiglons is also being given a revamp.
Both are sure to make an impact on where to stay in Chamonix when works are completed!
Getting around Chamonix
After the launch last winter, the new perspective on transport in the Chamonix Valley continues, with dedicated ski buses and urban buses – and more paid-for car parking at the bottom of the lifts.
In essence, as well as urban buses, there are special express ski buses that depart from Place Mont Blanc, Chamonix Tourist Office and Grepon Parking, to take skiers directly to the slopes.
Make sure you download the Chamonix Mobilite App before you arrive in resort for all the routes, times and live info.
Luggage solutions
Responding to the needs of visitors coming to Chamonix, there are now several options for left luggage services in town. Chamlocker, right opposite the main train station and next to the Europcar hire ship, offers automated baggage lockers from 7am to 11pm and includes long term storage solutions too.
Other places where you can store your bags include La Brume Alpine newsagents just up from Moo Bar, Librairie Landru book shop next to Irish Coffee bar and Concept Ski Shop by the Aiguille du Midi lift.
And if you need a buggy for your baby, you can rent rugged mountain-type strollers from the Maison de Mobilite at the bus station in Cham Sud!
